Board of Trustees | Bill 25

Medicine Hat, AB: The Minister of Education and Childcare has introduced Bill 25, which proposes changes to the Education Act. While details are still emerging, the Board of Trustees is concerned about the potential impact of the proposed legislation on student learning, schools, and local governance.

The Board is focused on understanding the full scope of this legislation and its potential implications for students, schools, and local governance. As locally elected trustees, we take pride in representing our community and are committed to ensuring local perspectives are reflected in provincial decisions that affect public education.

Our Board remains focused on supporting student success within a safe and caring public education system.

• BILL 25: Removing politics and ideology from Alberta classrooms. Proposed legislation will strengthen accountability, support safe and respectful schools and help ensure classrooms remain neutral.
