Access to Information Act and Protection of Privacy Act
Medicine Hat Public School Division is obligated to uphold legislation in accordance with the Alberta Access to Information Act (ATIA) and Protection of Privacy Act (POPA) (formerly the Freedom of Information and Privacy Act (FOIP)). These Acts balance the public’s right to know and the individual’s right to privacy. ATIA ensures that individuals have the right to access their own personal information; and POPA includes strict standards the school division must follow according to the Student Record Regulation regarding the collection, use and disclosure of personal information. If you have any questions or concerns regarding the collection of information and the intended purposes, please contact: Leanne Dulle, Secretary Treasurer Phone: (403) 528-6728 Leanne.Dulle@sd76.ab.ca
